Mild electro pop and tough high hop in a song, that was destined to be a global success thanks to Chris Brown and Lil Wayne`s mature style, completed by the fresh look of Tyga. `Loyal`, as its name suggests, is the story of a true love, told from three different perspectives, each singer describing his personal experience in finding the perfect woman, a quest full of sorrows related to potential infidelity. Believed to be a hidden message to ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, Chris Brown never admitted or denied the gossips, he simply argued it was a story about love and disappointment.
Besides the catchy rhythm of the song, `Loyal` will also draw the attention of viewers worldwide, since Chris Brown shows off his personal dancing style, including some simple, yet dynamic steps that will surely be imitated by his fans.
The main idea of the story is that the three men are looking for a different type of woman, so different that is so hard to be found among an ocean of beautiful faces. Being sexy isn`t the ultimate criterion in their selection, they are also interested by an ideal type of woman able to completely understand their personality, able to be loyal until the end, able to be in love with the soul of a person and not with his bank account. One of the lyrics explicitly describes this desire: `Why give a ##### your heart/ When she rather have a purse?`.
`Loyal` is one of the songs included in Chris Brown`s upcoming album, simply named `X`. Produced by Nic Nac, also responsible for Sean Kingston`s hits, the song is available in different versions, according to geographical distribution, for example in Europe and the rest of the world was promoted the version of `Loyal`, including the three rappers, while in some American states from the West Coast, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne`s performance was preferred. Since its debut, `Loyal` was subject to multiple remixes, including a version created by Keyshia Cole and Sean Kingston, as well as a remix designed by Tyga and Lil Wayne.
The song was officially launched in December 2013, while the video was released on March 2014, all the scenes being shot at Universal City Walk. Although Usher, Trey Songz or Ty Dolla Sign didn`t perform any vocal part, they were invited as friends of Chris Brown to appear for few seconds in the video. The video was directed by Eif Rivera, also preferred by Lil Wayne in `God Bless Amerika`, Fat Joe in `Love Me Long Time` or 50 Cent in `We Up`.
