The second single from the French DJ’s re-release of ‘Nothing but the Beat’, “Just One Last Time” by David Guetta is a reflective song about the nature of the artist’s business and the passion of his profession. Uploaded to his official channel and shared with the online world, Guetta’s second single is poised to hit the same success as his previous tracks.
Shot in Los Angeles and directed by award winning music video director Colin Tilley, who has helmed such famous faces as Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, 50 Cent, Little Wane, Diddy, Usher, and Justine Beiber, the video features the blending of conceptual storylines with computer effects enhancing Guetta’s beats into visual splendor. The video correlates his DJ’ing with images of fire and desperation before a futuristic device unlocks the secrets and beats of a young man’s mind before zooming into his neural networking and exploding the beat of the song with Guetta’s internal genius. The DJ is positioned on a pedestal of fire, but throughout the beat is the melancholy of the title: Just one last time. The storyline of the video shows the young man visiting his girlfriend’s house and playing with Guetta and his friends until discovering the house is on fire, and ultimately becoming trapped himself in the inferno of flames matching the inferno of Guetta’s beats.
Provactive and unique, Guetta has channeled his DJ’ing into a mainstream success that is still rarely seen for musicians of his profession. Started at a club in Paris, Guerra cut his teeth at a young age by remixing mainstream songs before he entered into a world of larger freedoms and edgier points of view.
“Just One Last Time” comes on the heels of his fifth studio album, featuring vocals from the Swedish duo Taped Rai, and it has charted in Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK despite having only released officially in France, Australia and the United Kingdom. Guetta is slowly growing as an international DJ superstar, and the music video for his second single reflects that in its production values, behind the scenes talent, and a director who has been the recipient of three Video Music Award nominations. ‘Just One Last Time’ for the song, but Guetta has many more minutes left in the spotlight.
