Can you say wow, wow, and wow? Give it up for a triple crown. David Guetta himself with contributions from the one and only Ne-Yo and Akon, “Play Hard” marries the music and dance once again into the perfect union.
This third single from the world famous French DJ and record producer transcends the world in classic David Guetta style. With production assistance on the track from Giorgio Tuinfort and Frederic Riesterer, the trio surely let none of us down while bringing “Play Hard” to the market as a tribute to the work of playing and play of working (when it’s done right that is).
Tuinfort and Riesterer also assisted Guetta and the rest of the team including Aliaune Thiam and Shaffer Smith with the making of the lyrics. This is one more of those times when we can say teamwork got the job done right. Incorporating the track by Alice Deejay and DJ Jurgen “Better off Alone” brings an air of familiarity and a new twist. Another one off twist was taking the filming of the video to the home of the artists in Mexico. The talented Andreas Nilsson had it all going on just right while directing “Play Hard” at just the right place.
Though a bit controversial because of possible racial depictions and stereotyping, “Play Hard” has hit its mark as intended. David Guetta holds nothing back in his explanation of the point and purpose for the “Play Hard” song and video. Always passionate about the arts, their spirituality, and the culmination of effects they can bring, Guetta took great pride in bringing together the lives of many cultures in the world of commonality.
Guetta believes that despite the differences in the artist’s cultures, styles, ethnicities, etc. they share a common bond and love for art and performing; for bringing their message to life through the art of dance.
The artists include Ariel Ruiz, a Mexican break dancer, French twins and dancing sensations Les Twins, the beautiful Columbian dancer Natalie, and the tribalero group Los Socios bringing high style and hard hitting music to life in the form of a dance off. Each dancer radiates the joy and spirit of the moment, the dance, and the camaraderie. They show us all that there are things that unite us as humans regardless of nationality, ethnicity, gender, age, etc. “Play Hard” shows the love of playing hard to win at what you love and how it’s worth it for the sheer joy of doing what you love.
