Wanted by Hunter Hayes
Only early last year, the award-winning Hunter Hayes was one of the many American country music up and coming artists. Hayes’ single, “Wanted” proved to be his key to stardom with the video bagging the American Country award for Best Video New Artist last year. The song has also been nominated for the Grammys this year in the Best Country Solo performance category. This is proof of just how good the song and its video are. Released in March 2012, the video is from the second single off Hayes’ debut self-titled studio album.
Hayes is not only the musician behind the single but also one of the co-writers that contributed to writing of the script. The video has been directed by Traci Goudie and Patrick Hubik. The two make up with BirdMachineBird Company that has directed a number of top ranking country music videos. It has been produced by Dan Huff as well as Hunter Hayes himself. The single has been recorded under the Atlantic label that Hayes is signed to. It would be correct to say that the single as well as its video have helped Hunter join the list of most talented American country music artiste. The kind of artistry, maturity and skill used in coming up with the video is quite intense.
The video is simple yet quite intriguing. Basically, Hayes is shown to be singing to his lyrics while playing the piano. Other scenes incorporated into the video are where Hayes is seen to be enjoying some quality time with a female character. From enjoying a motorcycle ride to spending some time in what seems to be a restaurant; the video is highly romantic. The female character keeps on holding a rose flower with the red color being made quite visible by the surrounding black and white theme. As a matter of fact, the color red has been highly emphasized in the video, this being the color of love!
The song by itself is quite mature in such a way that it brings the whole aspect of love into perspective. Lovers of love have found an all-time favorite in what might just end up to be one of Hayes’ master pieces. The video is completely in tune with the lyrics of the video. Hayes has also incorporated the use of writings in the video. Various romantic writings can be seen all over the video making the theme even catchier. At the end of the day, it is such simple features that make this particular video stand out from the rest.
