The King of Pop is honored by one of the contemporary artists inspired by his music. ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ is Justin Timberlake’s way to say Thank You to Michael Jackson, being the second homage brought to the King, after ‘Workin’ Day and Night’, mastered and released in 2009.’
The best way to remember Michael Jackson is to sing and dance with him, as if he was still present. Having this idea in mind, Justin Timberlake and a crowd of young dancers prove that the memorable moves of the King aren’t old fashioned. Scenes from ‘Thriller’ or ‘Black or White’ are displayed on TVs in the background, while the dancers attempt to reproduce the style that marked at least two generations of young artists. ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ is more than a chorus, it’s a way of living, trying to enjoy every moment, as if it was the last one. The protagonists dance, sing and embrace their friends, in the memory of the man who intensively fought for peace, aiming to ‘Heal The World’ through love and tolerance.
Justin Timberlake is dressed as Michael Jackson used to, in a balanced style of black and white, accompanied by a pair of light moccasins, as the artist implied into his concerts. He moves like The King of Pop and advises everybody to move and feel good. As expected, the dancers invited to act in the video come from different cultures, since the color of somebody’s skin means nothing in the world of music.
Originally, ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ was written and produced in 1983, by Michael Jackson and Paul Anka, but never managed to be officially released, featuring exclusively Michael Jackson’s voice. Justin Timberlake, following Usher’s idea, who was the first to pay a tribute to the King through this song, decided ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ deserves to be offered to the world into ‘Xscape’, the second posthumous album. On May 2 fans worldwide discovered the song, featuring the unmistakable voice of Michael Jackson and a minimal vocal performance of Justin Timberlake.
Creating a duet with Michael Jackson was only a part of the mission of Justin Timberlake. The young pop star also involved into the effective creation of the video, along with Rich Lee, who has directed music videos for Maroon 5, Eminem or Norah Jones. The video of ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ was released on May 14, being a joyful, passionate tribute to the King of Pop’s influence in contemporary music.
