The video for “Ice ft. Lil Wayne” is taking the world by storm! Kelly Rowland serves up another hot vocal under Sean Garret and Noel Fisher’s beats. Of course Weezy stole the show as usual, but he can’t help it. Rowland and Wayne have writing credits together, along with the Garret and Fisher Combo, so it was truly a collaboration on a big scale. The video, though epic in it’s own right, unfortunately had to go on without an appearance by Lil Wayne himself, due to the seizures he suffered prior to the shoot. His guest spot vocals though have a physical presence even with his actual absence though.
The video was shot by acclaimed director Matthew Rolston who has made some of the best music videos of all time. From Jodi Watley, to Marilyn Manson, to Madonna, Rolston has the touch and look artists are always clamoring for. This time around he may have outdone himself, and that is saying something. First of all, two words come to mind watching this video. Disco lips. They are the image that stays with you after the video flickers off. Every you blink for at least the next hour after watching it, you will see these blue shiny lips, guaranteed. You will be asking your girlfriend to go buy some after this, for real.
Besides disco lips and Lil Wayne’s killer verse, another part of the video that stays with you will be the dancing. Rowland isn’t known for moving around that much, but she must have been inspired by the song and the team effort put into it, because she obviously pours her heart into the routine. That is the kind of dancing you can not fake if you are not feeling it. She looks extremely hot while doing it to which never hurts. The backround girls keep up with her in exquisite time as well. Also for you ladies there is a six pack to keep you interested. Maybe it’s a ten pack upon further review. One thing is for sure, despite Wayne’s person being in the building, there is very little they could do to make this more pretty.
Production of the video went so smooth that rumor has it, they finished early and had time to collaborate on a few more beats, so look for an extended single with maybe some b-sides. The very next chance you get you should go out and seek this video out! What are you waiting for? Ice is not going to melt anytime soon though, so it should be easy to find. You know what to do. I scream, you scream, we all scream for “Ice ft. Lil Wayne” scream. A play on words for you, feel free to say it to your friends next time you are all sitting around discussing the video or work it into a free style battle. Hip Hop can go so many different directions, you should direct yourself to watching “Ice ft. Lil Wayne” as soon as you can.
