Limp Bizkit is a new metal band that has been around for a couple of decades. The band formed in 1994, and it is currently made up of members Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, and John Otto. The band got their start by being part of the underground music scene in Jacksonville, Florida before signing with a record label.
Since then, Limp Bizkit has released six studio albums, a live album, and several compilations. Some of their hit songs over the years have included songs like “Take a Look Around,” “Rollin,” and “Behind Blue Eyes” to name just a few. The band has become known for Durst’s vocals, their experimentation with sounds, and elaborate appearances during shows.
The song “Ready to Go” is the first single to be released from the band’s upcoming album entitled Stampede of the Disco Elephants, which is their seventh studio album. The single “Ready to go” was released in March 2013 from Cash Money Records. The song features rapper Lil Wayne. “Ready to Go” was written by both Limp Bizkit and Lil Wayne. The music video to the song was directed by Agata Alexander along with the band’s frontman Fred Durst. The video was produced by Jeff Panzer and released in July of 2013.
The music video for “Ready to Go” opens with the shot of a Limp Bizkit billboard on a street with the New York skyline in the background. It then shows the band doing different things like performing on stage during a concert, decorating a guitar, and taking pictures. There are scenes of people dancing and crowd surfing during concerts. There are shots of them the band on their instruments.
The band is also seen playing the song outside of a garage and putting on their elaborate costumes for the stage. Some of the more unusual scenes show women in bikinis in someone’s backyard with a kiddie pool getting wet and Durst sitting on a toilet. There are a lot of scenes of the band performing on stage and getting ready for concerts. At one point, Lil Wayne makes his appearance and raps his lines. The video ends with a lit up of sign of the band’s name.
The song “Ready to Go” is an anthem in which the band proclaims that rock music isn’t dead. It is a sort of proclamation that they are still around and rocking the stage. It starts off with stating how people say rock “doesn’t rock anymore” but they are around to prove it still rocks. The song also talks about a woman being “ready to go” and how they drink until “we pass out and fall on the floor.” The song salutes the “rock god” and Durst proclaims he’s still “the man” even after “40 million records.” Over and over, they say that they are “ready to go.”
