Forever Now by Ne-Yo
Forever Now by Ne-Yo is from his album named R.E.D. which means “Realizing Every Dream” and the album was released in 2012. The writers of the song are Shaffer Smith (Ne-Yo), Clayton Reilly, Keith Justice and others. He actually first performed this song during the X-Factor Germany. The X-Factor performance was his first live performance of the song. The video director is Ryan Pallotta. The record label which Ne-Yo is under is Motown. The producers are StarGate, Bingo Players and Phatboiz.
Ne-Yo has basically said that the album is a reflection of how his life was at this time and who he is as a person. It may be about having a relationship such as “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)” telling the woman to love herself and that he will be loyal. The song “Forever Now” is about a woman leaving Ne-Yo for another man. The two songs can seem to contradict one another. The contradiction does seem to make the album better so says the people that listen to it.
The song “Forever Now” is about a Ne-Yo being hurt after all this time for another man. He was looking to marry her because he had thought that she was the one to complete him, but she ended up breaking his heart. He was heartbroken, and asked why did this happen and what could he have done to prevent this and what he can do now that his plans have been ruined. He has had these high expectations of her and she ended up being bad.
Overall the album has gotten good reviews but has disappointed some critics who feel that it may not have been as good as Ne-Yo’s past work. The song itself has charted in only Germany and the UK. The song “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)” has been more successful in the charts. The albums has tracks which have various different messages a lot of which deal with relationships but different feelings towards the relationships the artist is singing about.
