Lifestyle by Rich Gang ft. Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan
Hip hop artists are usually associated with a particular way of living, that Rich Gang decided to detail in their song, suggestively named “Lifestyle”. Famous hip hop musicians might be wealthy and spend important amounts of money for neverending parties, but they never forget about their families and their communities.
All in all, the video is a suite of images describing the richness gathered by successful hip hop artists: personal yacht and airplane, beautiful party animators, impressive golden jewels, extravagant and expensive clothes, refined drinks or a suite of shoes created by famous designers. Indeed, these objects can create the basis of a satisfactory lifestyle, but they aren’t everything about being happy, a person needs more than this to be satisfied with his own life.
For example, one of the band’s members feels like a complete man, when he handles to his mother, washing dishes as she used everyday, an amount of money from his earnings. The woman is surprised and happy, as well as his son, leaving the home for his work, singing on hip hop rhythm what he sees and hears in daily life.
The video starts with the peaceful image of one member of the band relaxing on his yacht, accompanied by a beautiful woman. In another corner of the world, his partner descends from a luxurious airplane, accompanied by sensual stewardesses. These properties are only few signs of their social status, leaving a life marked by richness and celebrity. They smoke fine cigars, they throw into the air amounts of money, they buy clothes and shoes from the most appreciated brands, but still they haven’t forgotten about their origins.
Despite their popularity, the members of Rich Gang returned to their neighborhood, starting to sing along with old friends. In fact, the true richness relies in friendship and caution, since the current lifestyle might become a shadow in the future.
“Lifestyle” was written by a team of prodigious hip hop musicians such as London Holmes, Bryan Willians, Dequantes Lamar and Bryan Williams. The song produced by London on da Track was released in June 2014, following the success of the group obtained with “Tapout”.
The video created for “Lifestyle” was released on 30 June 2014, being directed by Be El Be, one of the most appreciated directors in hip hop area. Be El Be also created for Sqwa Pro “Zoom” and for Killa Kyleon “H.A.T.E.R”.
