Harlem Shake by Tate Tucker
If you don’t know, what is the Harlem Shake, you must either be someone’s grandmother, or living under a rock. The Harlem Shake is a song that is taking the musical world by storm and captivating many audiences from preteen to twenty-somethings and beyond. The Harlem Shake isn’t just about the song, or the music video, it is a whole new phenomenon that individuals are performing in bars, airports, and clubs across Canada, United States and beyond. So what is making this song so popular?
It is more about just the catchy tune and beat of the song that is attracting many to the video, and making many want to join in on the craze. It is the charm and style of Baauer and Tate Tucker, the men behind the scenes, that are redefining cool and making everyone want a piece of it.
More commonly known as Baauer, Herry Rodriguez is the producer of the Harlem Shake. Not new to the industry, he has developed a following for his dance style and expertise of house and electro music. Making music formerly under “Captain Harry”, his dance moves are creating a buzz among musical lovers. Born in West Philly, he is a music producer who knows what sells, and how to make millions and millionaires out of artists. Being in the business just three short years, he has really catapulted himself to stardom in a short time.
Add in the talent of Tate Tucker, and you can see what is lighting the world music stage on fire. Tate Tucker is slightly new to the scene, but behaves like an old veteran pro out on the stage. He has his roots as a Georgetown rapper who began his career standing up in class and stunning his audience with his hip hop rants and raves. No longer just a student, he has helped to start a movement around the word, and one which will not be soon squashed.
Perhaps the place that is finding the greatest niche for the Harlem Shake is college campuses across the nation. Many college students are beginning flash mob type dances, disrupting venues, and making a scene. Saying it loud, is what the Harlem Shake is all about. Soon it may be just another fad, but for now, there are not many who are not bouncing to the beat of this incredible rap rendition, and enjoying every minute of it. It is simply fun.
