It will be part of will.i.am’s album #willpower. This will be William’s fourth studio album as a solo artists. He had many albums released as a member of the Black Eyed Peas as well. The song was written by a collaboration of William Adams, Jef Martens and Jean Baptiste. It was produced by will.i.am himself along with Martens. Martens, also known as Basto, or Lazy Jay, is a famous Belgian DJ who is best known for his work in the Electro House scene. It was recorded in August 2012. This song is actually the second song that Britney Spears and will.i.am have worked on, the first being “Big Fat Bass” which was released on the Femme Fatale album.
Scream and Shout is and upbeat dance song, with looping beats and lyrics that talk focus on a time out in a club. It has been released to much commercial success reaching the top five in the many European countries, along with New Zealand, Canada, and South Korea. The song rose very quickly in the charts, in fact is was the quickest rise of a song in six years.
The music video accompany the song was directed by Ben Mor. It was shot in October 13th and 14th 2012. It made its world premier on the November 28th episode of The X Factor. The video was shot in Los Angels California. It depicts and black suited will.i.am matched with a futuristic dressed Spears, who wears a Herve Leger dress. Spears also wears long black gloves throughout the video. Mor has noted that the video’s concept is multiplicity, and hopes to bring the essence of the song to life through symbols.
The song was released with some controversy. Song writer Tulisa Contostavlos claims she wrote the song with writer Jean Baptiste earlier, with a different title. Her claim was eventually lost though, as the producers of the beat, came forward and said that they did not give her the rights to the music. It should also be noted that the song has been used in a Beat by Dr. Dre headphones. The commercial featuring the color headphones includes many celebrities, including LeBron James, Lil Wayne and will.i.am.
