Will.i.am has once again produced a musical masterpiece with his new hit single “This is love” released for digital download. Directed by Will.i.am himself the music video portrays a not so typical love story with unique sounds and beats in a uniquely romantic environment. Co-starring in the video with Will.i.am adding her own set of interesting vocal talents is Dutch singer-songwriter Eva Simons. It was written using the combined talents of Will.i.am, Simons Max Martin and Mike Hamiliton. The song was co-produced by Steven Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, both Dj’s for Swedish House Mafia. Will.i.am began work on the song itself in December 2011 doing the mix independent of the studio, working it out completely on his personal laptop. After several months of work Will.i.am pushed it out for the world to see May,14 2012 Where it premiered in the UK.
The setting for the music video is the bank of the River Thames in London near Tower Bridge. The primary setting of the video is Will.i.am playing a grand piano in varied weather next to the bridge with Simons at a party on a laptop. The laptop depicting the Soho nightclub Cirque Du Soir in full swing. The setting swaps between the two artists, the club and the bridge until the song begins to end and they both come together at the bridge. Accompanying them is a more classical orchestra of violinists, and cello players as the sparks literally fly between the two. The meaning behind the song is the overall basic idea that if two people have expressed, mutual feelings that they should be together It is expressed quite clearly .
